Explore the wonders of the ocean, rainforest, and desert at Austin Aquarium! Our goal is to inspire the next generation of ocean explorers and conservationists in Greater Austin. Through hands-on education and personal encounters with live animals, we aim to foster a deep appreciation for the incredible ecosystems that make up our planet.
With over 30 spectacular exhibits and more than 2,500 species, the Austin Aquarium promises adventure around every corner! Students can interact with incredible creatures such as sharks, stingrays, sea jellies, octopuses, vibrant fish, tropical birds, reptiles, amphibians, and more.
The Austin Aquarium’s expert team of educators, biologists, and aquarists leads engaging, age-appropriate educational programs tailored to school groups. Every field trip includes hands-on activities that make learning fun and interactive. We align these programs with educational goals to maximize student engagement and provide unforgettable lessons about the natural world.
One of the highlights includes hands-on experiences with invertebrates like sea stars, urchins, and anemones native to the Oregon Coast and Pacific regions. These one-of-a-kind encounters offer students a unique glimpse into marine life without having to travel to the coast.

Field trip pricing is good for all Pre-K through 12th Grade students regardless of the size of the group (educational institutions, certified child care, home school, YMCA, or any other legitimately certified groups of children). Please show certification at the door.
Low-income school districts may qualify for up to $2 per person discounts via our scholarship fund.
Homeschool small groups are encouraged to pair up with other homeschoolers or contact the aquarium on which date you prefer and they will gladly pair you up with others interested in that day. The Austin Aquarium does include special pricing for homeschool groups of 15 or more.
